Yesterday we heard about the difference in battery life on two identical iPhone 6S handsets, each one with different A9 processors, one with a TSMC processor, the other with a Samsung processor.
We also saw some videos earlier today, showing the two different Apple A9 chips being tested, the videos did show some difference in battery life.
Now Apple has given TechCrunch an official statement about the issue, Apple has said that data gathered from its users shows that there is a difference in actual battery life of around 2-3%.

Certain manufactured lab tests which run the processors with a continuous heavy workload until the battery depletes are not representative of real-world usage, since they spend an unrealistic amount of time at the highest CPU performance state. According to Apple this is withing normal manufacturing tolerances, the company also mentioned that its data is from every day usage of the new handsets and not data from testing.
